In Family Literacy, children:

  • Prepare to be successful in kindergarten and elementary school
  • Learn socialization skills
  • Develop their self-esteem
  • Become independent thinkers and problem-solvers

In Family Literacy, adults:

  • Improve their English skills
  • Prepare for their GED exam
  • Learn to use computers
  • Participate in their children's education
  • Become actively involved in their children's schools by taking leadership roles
  • Explore new parenting approaches

In Family Literacy:

  • Parents and children play and learn together to promote reading skills and language development
  • Parents learn to communicate with their children in a supportive setting
  • Parents enhance their awareness of how their own children learn best
